Once the Jesmonite has been poured into your mold, there may be air bubbles in it. When you place your mold with Jesmonite casting on the plate and turn it on, the vibrations cause the air to move upwards and escape. This plate also ensures that the Jesmonite spreads easily through the nooks and crannies of the mold.
