Rit Liquid Colorstay Dye Fixative

Rit ColorStay Dye Fixative is a specially developed color fixative used immediately after dyeing with Rit liquid dye or Rit Dye Powder. This product helps to set the color better into the fibers, significantly reducing bleeding and fading. Ideal for anyone who wants to enjoy vibrant, fresh colors for longer.

Rit liquid dye is a universal, non-toxic multipurpose dye that gives bright and glossy colors to both old and new fabrics. This dye is suitable for natural materials such as cotton, linen, wool, and silk, as well as synthetic fabrics such as nylon and rayon. In addition, Rit dye can also be used on materials such as wood and paper. To best preserve these colors, the use of Rit ColorStay Dye Fixative is highly recommended.

Always use ColorStay after dyeing, so that the color is optimally set and releases less during washing.

Please note:
If the material to be dyed contains more than 35% synthetic fibers, use Rit DyeMore instead of standard Rit dye.

Consumption & Dosage

• As a general guideline:
  
• For 500 grams of dry fabric (e.g., two large adult T-shirts), use 120 ml of ColorStay Dye Fixative
  
• Mix this with 11.5 liters of water

Dyeing Methods

• Stovetop method

This method is recommended for the most vibrant color or when dyeing nylon.
Be careful when using over open flame.

• Washing machine method

Suitable for larger items. Rit has been safely used in washing machines for decades and will not discolor metal parts.

• Bucket method

Only suitable for smaller projects such as T-shirts, sweaters, hats, and other compact items.
