Rit liquid dye is a universal, non-toxic dye. This dye gives vibrant, glossy colors to old and new fabrics/clothing such as cotton, linen, wool, and silk.
Use Rit ColorStay Dye Fixative immediately after dyeing to set the color. This reduces color bleeding and fading.
Dyeing Methods:
Stovetop Method: For the most vibrant color (or if you are dyeing nylon), we recommend using this method. (Be careful with fire!)
Washing Machine Method: To dye large items, we recommend using this method. We understand if you don't entirely trust it. We guarantee that Rit will not discolor metal parts. The product has been used in washing machines for decades.
Bucket Method: This method is only intended for smaller projects, such as T-shirts, sweaters, hats, etc.
Please note: always do a test first. Colors can always turn out differently than you would like and are partly determined by the existing color and material of the fabric.
If you want to dye materials that consist of more than 35% synthetic fabrics, use Rit DyeMore.

We always recommend trying out dyeing projects with a small piece of test fabric first, as the composition of existing dye in the fabric, fabric types, heat, and other conditions can affect the result. Always read the instructions carefully before use.
