- Suitable surfaces: Illustration paper, watercolor paper, smooth cardstock, or paper providing suitable thickness and ‘tooth’ — thin or very porous paper may bleed through or warp due to blending/water
- Sizes & weight: comparable pens have a length of approximately 190 mm and a diameter of approximately 10-12 mm; set package approx. 195 × 85 × 44 mm
- Shake each pen well beforehand and test the tip on a scrap piece of paper to get the ink flowing
- For broad areas or fluid brushwork: use the brush tip with light to moderate pressure; for text, details, or lines: use the fine tip
- Apply a color
- Immediately apply a second color next to or over the edge
- Take a wet brush or blending tool and spread the color or soften the transition
- Store pens horizontally or with the cap tightly sealed to prevent drying out
- Note paper choice: with increased wet/blend use, there is a chance of wavy paper or bleed-through on thin paper
- The combination of fine tip + brush tip provides maximum flexibility: from precise lines to expressive brush strokes
- The water-based ink allows for blending, watercolor-like transitions, and various creative techniques
- The “Primary Colors” palette is very versatile — strong basic and neutral shades suitable for many applications
- Part of Tombow’s high-quality and widely used ABT line — a reliable brand in illustration and creative circles
